The job + The responsibility
- Together with your team, you are responsible for the (further) development and management of the services and applications related to the “distributions” product (ots + others)
- You develop a clear product vision and a robust strategy for your product area in collaboration with the Product Management leadership
- Within the “distributions” team, you are responsible for the prioritization logic and set the agenda for the Product Owners
- You will mediate conflicting product-related objectives and ensure alignment among different product developments and interests.
- You will coordinate and guide other Product Owners and contribute to the further development of product work within the team, fostering efficient collaboration and a shared focus on goals.
- You manage and prioritize the product backlog independently and with a focus on impact, based on market analyses, customer feedback, usage data, business objectives, and corporate strategy, and use this to develop concrete measures for optimizing the product.
- You formulate high-quality technical requirements, epics, and user stories and ensure clear communication with the development team.
- You work closely with developers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment across departments.
- You oversee acceptance testing and quality assurance, ensuring that solutions meet technical requirements and quality standards.
- You present product progress and strategies to executives and other stakeholders.
You + Your strengths
- A successfully completed degree in Media Informatics, Business Informatics, Media Management, or a comparable field of study
- At least 6 years of experience as a Product Owner in digital product development / software development
- A deep understanding of software development, including agile methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban). Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and prototyping software
- A strong understanding of news aktuell’s product and service portfolio, the needs of our clients (in the PR, communications, and media industries), and market dynamics
- Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven prioritization and decision-making
- The ability to mediate complex stakeholder interests, dependencies, and conflicting goals, and to facilitate viable decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English, at least A2 level in German), including the ability to convey complex technical information in a way tailored to the audience
- A high degree of personal responsibility, strategic thinking, assertiveness, and the ability to get things done
- Strong affinity for digital trends, technologies, and products in the fields of communication, media, and/or marketing
